What if I have a medical condition?

If you have ANY chronic medical condition we highly recommend you schedule a consultation with our physician BEFORE you have your official FAA medical. During this visit you and our AME can develop a plan and guide you on the process of getting approved BEFORE the FAA time clock starts.

CACI Conditions

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has identified specific medical conditions that Aviation Medical Examiners (AMEs) can evaluate and issue medical certificates for without requiring a special issuance process. These are known as Conditions AMEs Can Issue (CACI). As of October 4, 2024, the FAA recognizes the following CACI conditions:

  • Arthritis
  • Asthma
  • Bladder Cancer
  • Breast Cancer
  • Chronic Immune Thrombocytopenia (C-ITP)
  • Chronic Kidney Disease
  • Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL)/Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma (SLL)
  • Colitis
  • Colon/Colorectal Cancer
  • Essential Tremor
  • Glaucoma
  • Hepatitis C – Chronic
  • Hypertension
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Low Testosterone (Low T) Hypogonadism
  • Migraine and Chronic Headache
  • Mitral Valve Repair
  • Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
  • Prediabetes
  • Primary Hemochromatosis
  • Prostate Cancer
  • Psoriasis
  • Renal Cancer
  • Retained Kidney Stones
  • Testicular Cancer
  • Weight Loss Management

If you have ANY of the above conditions I highly recommend you schedule a consultations with us BEFORE you schedule you medical exam! There are certain documents and test you will need to obtain in order pass the medical exam and it will speed up the process if we discuss the requirements BEFORE you have your actual FAA exam with us.
